Do I get native 4k Ultra HD?
Probably the last installment of the modern X-Men franchise was shot on Arri Alexa XT Plus cameras, which is a common set-up in Hollywood. Recording was done between 2.8k and 3.4k, and the complete post-production, including digital effects and mastering, was done in 2k. For the purposes of the 4k Ultra HD Blu-ray, the master is therefore upsampled. Even so, it can still benefit from higher quality than conventional Blu-ray - in addition to the 2k resolution of the source material and its higher quality compression, this is of course helped by the presence of extended colour and brightness space, i.e. WCG and HDR. These are usually much more important than resolution for similarly visually appealing titles.
