Will I get native 4k Ultra HD?
Yes. Philadelphia was shot entirely on analog film, and at a time when post-production was also completed purely photochemically. As a result, the studio had a source in its archives for a proper 4k scan, from which a native 4k master could be created. Which is exactly what happened. In addition to the increase in resolution, the video naturally benefits from the presence of WCG and, most importantly, HDR, which allows it to operate with a wider color gamut and brightness range. As is usually the case, assuming a high-quality master, it is highly probable that the movie will never look better than it does on Ultra HD Blu-ray.
