Do I get native 4k ULTRA HD?
Yes. Alex Proyas’s iconic 1994 gothic comic-book thriller was shot on 35mm film by cinematographer Dariusz Wolski using Arriflex and Panavision cameras. For its 30th anniversary, Paramount Pictures created a brand-new native 4k master from a 4k scan of the original 35mm camera negative, graded in Dolby Vision (and HDR-10). For the rain-slicked, shadow-draped streets of Detroit, native 4k with HDR is transformative: deep blacks retain rich shadow detail without crushing, while wet pavement reflections, roaring flames, and crimson highlights pop with a dynamic range and filmic texture that easily outclass the aging Blu-ray.
