Do I get native 4K ULTRA HD?

Yes. Krzysztof Kieślowski’s iconic trilogy has undergone a complete restoration under French supervision, receiving a brand new 4K master. This master subsequently served as the source for both the Criterion Collection edition and the local 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release for the French market. While the French edition fell slightly short in terms of encoding, Criterion delivered an outstanding job, as usual. We can expect an equally stellar result from the British edition—this is evident simply from the fact that while the French settled for dual-layer Ultra HD Blu-rays, the UK label Curzon Film World opted for 100GB triple-layer discs, just like Criterion. We can therefore look forward to the definitive presentation of all three films, whose color grading and final master were meticulously overseen by the original cinematographers' descendants and highly renowned experts. As we have come to expect from the 4K format, it extracts the absolute maximum amount of audiovisual information, delivering a version of the films that technically surpasses even their original theatrical presentations.
