* Regarding the remastering: The legendary P.U.L.S.E. concert tour took place in the mid-1990s, when digital video technology was unfortunately not particularly advanced. Although similar productions were typically shot on traditional motion picture film—that is, analog—Pink Floyd opted for digital recording. Due to its SD resolution, it naturally cannot be mastered into true native Full HD; while the presentation is in a Full HD container, it does not possess the visual characteristics of a modern 1080p production we are accustomed to. On the video front, one must therefore account for the limitations of the technology of the era. Fortunately, the audio was recorded on six-track tapes, meaning Pink Floyd enthusiasts are in for an upgrade at least in terms of sound, where both the stereo LPCM and the six-channel DTS-HD MA represent the definitive sonic presentation of the concert—nothing more can possibly be mixed from the source materials. It is therefore safe to say that P.U.L.S.E. will never look—or sound—any better than this.
