This collection comprises five films from the golden treasury of Slovak cinema: Peter Solan's war drama The Boxer and Death (Boxer a smrť, 1963), Štefan Uher's The Sun in a Net (Slnko v sieti, 1962)—widely regarded as a landmark of the Czechoslovak New Wave—Juraj Jakubisko's banned classic Birds, Orphans and Fools (Vtáčkovia, siroty a blázni, 1969), I Love, You Love (Ja milujem, ty miluješ, 1988) by Dušan Hanák, the only Slovak winner of the Silver Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival, and finally Miroslav Luther's A Path Across the Danube (Chodník cez Dunaj, 1989), set in Slovakia during World War II. All five films have been restored as part of the national audiovisual heritage preservation project.
