Do I get native 4k Ultra HD?

Yes. Donner shot The Goonies at a time when post-production had not yet been interfered with by digital transition copies, so all work was done photochemically (except for shots that needed digital effects). This allowed the studio to turn to archival negatives, scan them in 4k, and then create a native 4k master based on them. The Ultra HD Blu-ray transfer can thus reflect a source with a superior amount of image information and can be expected to have qualities equivalent to most analogue transfers: The preservation of the fidelity of 35mm cine film, already embraced by the quality reproduction of film grain and the healthy handling of the brightnes range, taking advantage of the great exposure flexibility of analogue material; as well as the increase in finesse and sharpness and, of course, "colour resolution". UHDBD can also be expected to maximise the use of the image information stored on 35mm strips, thanks to HDR and WCG.
