Do I get native 4K ULTRA HD?
Yes. Blade Runner was completely restored on the occasion of its thirtieth anniversary. The original 35mm negatives were photochemically treated and subsequently scanned in 4K so they could be digitally cleaned. Some effects shots were even filmed on 65mm; in these cases, the materials were scanned in up to 8K. The master for the Ultra HD Blu-ray presentation is therefore in native UHD, and international reviews praise it both for its excellent fine detail and film grain, as well as for its beautiful HDR with rich colors and deeper spatial definition. Most reviewers are downright ecstatic when describing the image, as the remaster is said to have turned out exceptionally well.
