Do I get Native 4k?

Yes. Casablanca has seen its umpteenth full restoration, this time for the purposes of a 4k Ultra HD Blu-ray release. So the archivists went back to the earliest available nitrates, scanning these in 4k and 16-bit color depth to preserve as many brightness transitions and gray tones as possible for subsequent digital cleanup. Before the new master for 2022 was then exported, a complete clean-up and re-grading for HDR presentation purposes took place, so that the new transcript could extract the absolute maximum from the source materials while looking the best possible on current displays. In addition, the original mono track was also restored to take advantage of the maximum sonic dynamics of the original mix. So if fans of this classic want the best quality available, there is no more technically superior film presentation than on this 4k Ultra HD Blu-ray disc.
