Will I get native 4k Ultra HD?

Yes. For the new UHD transfer, the studio went back to the archival negatives, which were completely restored and scanned in 4K. The Ultra HD Blu-ray can therefore utilize the maximum resolving power of the original film stock, delivering unprecedented sharpness and fine detail rendering for this title. And while it might not seem obvious for a black-and-white film, Dr. Strangelove also benefits greatly from HDR—international reviews highlight a brighter, livelier image with superior dynamic range that even the newly mastered Blu-ray cannot match due to the limitations of SDR. As holds true for all films in UHD editions: the movie has never looked this good, and in all likelihood, it never will look any better.
