Will I get native 4k Ultra HD?
Yes. As we have mentioned several times before, 2021 and 2022 represent a technical turning point for Hollywood productions in that filmmakers began embracing native 4K workflows on a large scale. Don't Worry Darling is one such film: it was shot with Arri Alexa LF digital cameras, whose new sensors capture raw footage in 4.5K. This was then slightly downsampled for a native 4K production pipeline, which naturally resulted in an equally native 4K master. One can therefore expect nothing less from the Ultra HD transfer than a technically precise presentation with top-tier detail bordering on reference quality. Furthermore, the film was color-graded specifically for Dolby Vision theaters, and although there is no DV layer on the disc itself, the native HDR grading undeniably contributes to superb handling of a wide luminance range. Given the highest possible production parameters, the disc delivers nothing short of the highest possible quality, easily surpassing even what we had the chance to see in theaters.
