The combination of concert footage and behind-the-scenes sequences comes directly from archival materials produced during Presley's career—and thus, logically, from an era when everything was shot on analog cameras, with 35mm motion picture film being the predominant source in this documentary. Luhrmann prepared this intimate, deeply personal chronicle on one hand, and spectacular concert experience on the other, specifically for IMAX screenings. Therefore, it was essential to handle the post-production and mastering with the clear goal of meeting modern technological standards. While the audio and video might show their age at times, this is still a largely native 4K presentation that extracts the absolute maximum from the archival elements.
