Do I get native 4k Ultra HD?
Yes. Given the age of the film, it should come as no surprise that Flashdance was made entirely in analogue. Of course, that made it all the easier for the studio to go back to the original analogue negatives and completely restore them. The anniversary remastering then produced a completely new transfer that, thanks to current 4k and HDR technologies, wrings the absolute maximum of the original 35mm strips' drawing ability as well as their dynamic range. The new master was created not only in 4k, but also in Dolby Vision, ensuring the subsequent Ultra HD Blu-ray transfer is of the highest possible quality. The film has never looked better, even at the time of its theatrical release - and it's highly likely that it never will.
