Will I get native 4k Ultra HD?

The Wachowskis shot Jupiter Ascending on several types of digital cameras, ranging from the Canon EOS 6D and RED EPIC (5K) to Arri Alexa cameras, which served as the main cameras and recorded at 2.8K resolution. Although some digital effects were rendered in 4K, the master topped out at 2K, making this an upscale.

According to international reviews, the film gains finer detail rendering and improved color reproduction over the standard Blu-ray release. Above all, however, the title benefits from superior handling of specular highlights, particularly during explosions and similarly bright scene elements (such as the sky). Michael S. Palmer at High-Def Digest notes that while the disc looks great, it represents a relatively modest upgrade over the Blu-ray. Much depends on your display technology, but there is no question that thanks to substantially higher peak brightness and richer blacks, Jupiter Ascending gains a strong sense of dimensionality.
