Do I get native 4k Ultra HD?

Yes. Groundhog Day was created in front of analogue cameras, so the studio was able to go back to the original 35mm negatives for the new home cinema release, restore them, scan them in 4k and then create a master for the native Ultra HD presentation. As well as an extreme increase in detail and drawing over the vintage original Blu-ray edition, we can expect better sharpness, better reproduction of film grain and a generally "tighter" image thanks to better compression. In addition to this, the new transfer also takes the film's visual qualities up several levels with HDR and WCG, which wring the most out of the film's raw material. This is confirmed by the enthusiastic foreign reviews, which praise the new transfer to the skies and often refer to it as a reference.
