Predator

Yes. Predator was of course made long before digital intermediates existed, when films were finished photochemically. Its original version lives on 35mm film, with optical visual effects composited directly onto the film elements (meaning those particular VFX shots naturally look slightly softer and lower in resolution). To mark Predator's 30th anniversary, 20th Century Fox went back to the vaults and gave the original camera negatives (OCN) a brand-new 4k scan. The Ultra HD Blu-ray is therefore sourced from native 4k, and as is always the case with analog catalog classics, the film will never look better on home video than it does in 4k UHD with HDR. Overseas reviewers rave about the transfer's superb fine detail, which stands in night-and-day contrast to the notoriously DNR-scrubbed waxworks of the older Blu-ray edition and faithfully preserves the organic filmic patina, complete with natural film grain structure.
