Speed

Yes. As is often the case with such catalog titles, it can be assumed that the 4k Ultra HD Blu-ray "extracts" the vast majority of audiovisual information from the original analog materials. Consequently, the film will likely never look better than this. The new 4k transfer from the original 35mm negatives shows a visible upgrade in fine detail, the stability of film grain definition, and color reproduction. In this regard, the image is much closer to its original form, as it avoids any trendy color grading; it simply portrays Speed exactly as it was meant to be seen. Meanwhile, HDR squeezes the absolute maximum out of the 35mm film’s dynamic range, while simultaneously bringing the video closer to modern home cinema standards. There is no doubt that this is the definitive quality for viewing this film, even surpassing the original theatrical experience from back in the day.
