Will I get native 4K ULTRA HD?

Yes. The Mandalorian & Grogu naturally continues the technological trends set by the original series. The show had already utilized cutting-edge digital technologies not only for recording, but also for pre-production and production, spearheaded by the now-legendary virtual set with background LED walls, nicknamed "The Volume." Arri Alexa LF digital cameras with a raw recording resolution of 4.5k ensured that the source material for the native 4k master possessed sufficient quality and resolution. Additionally, the disc features a variable aspect ratio — much like in IMAX, but also as seen in the series itself, where aspect ratio changes were effectively used as a storytelling tool. Given the completely digital and tightly controlled production process, one can expect nothing short of exceptional technical quality. The transfer delivers the absolute best existing copy for home theater projection, easily outperforming streaming quality.
