Will I get native 4k Ultra HD?

Yes. Fans of native 4K have been spoiled by films produced from 2020 onward, as mainstream Hollywood widely transitioned to the new Arri Alexa LF digital cameras capturing 4.5K raw footage—and, better still, to full 4K post-production pipelines. The Batman is one of the films shot and finished this way, earning it a native 4K master. Consequently, the Ultra HD Blu-ray presentation can take full advantage of the wealth of visual information offered by this capture and finishing workflow.

Alongside fantastic resolution and the sharpness that comes with it, UHD video can also harness the other pillars of modern audiovisual production: HDR, WCG, and—on the audio side—Dolby Atmos. Paradoxically, these are even more important than resolution itself. The sweeping soundtrack and thunderous effects are tailor-made for Atmos, while thanks to HDR the dark sets and brooding atmosphere not only stand out better, but the tighter luminance definition makes the image more "legible" and coherent. Simply put, it will look superior to the standard Blu-ray, where the limits of SDR constrain the original creative intent. Given how dark the film is, one can also expect it to look substantially better on a modern home theater setup than it did in movie theaters (precisely because of HDR). Compared to streaming, the disc enjoys the advantage of lower video compression—and thus finer detail reproduction—as well as vastly less audio compression, making the sound on UHDBD far more dynamic. The tried-and-true rule that 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray remains the best possible way to watch a film holds firm, and you can expect a reference-grade presentation across the board from this disc.
