Do I get native 4k ULTRA HD?
Yes. Director David Twohy shot his 2004 sci-fi epic on 35mm Super 35 film, with its numerous visual effects rendered at 2k and recorded back out to film—meaning heavy CGI shots naturally appear slightly softer than pure live-action photography. For this release, Arrow Video returned to the original 35mm camera negatives to create a brand-new 4k scan and native 4k restoration of both the Theatrical and Director's Cuts, supervised and approved by David Twohy. Presented on triple-layer BD-100 discs with HDR-10, Dolby Vision, and a new Dolby Atmos mix (on the theatrical cut), it is a massive leap over the old VC-1 Blu-ray, showcasing deep shadow detail, scorching Crematoria highlights, intricate armor textures, and organic film grain.
