Will I get native 4K Ultra HD?
Yes. Sam Raimi shot his punk production on analog 16mm film, which is the smaller sibling of the classic 35mm. Its theoretical resolution is, of course, somewhat lower, so it is necessary to expect that the definition of the new 4k scans, which the studio recently performed to create a new 4k master, is a bit lower than that of classic 35mm scans. At the same time, a heavier film grain must be expected, as it is an integral part of the recording. However, it is clear that the 4k scan squeezed the absolute maximum out of the 16mm film, and in combination with HDR, which makes the most of its exposure latitude, this new transfer creates the ultimate presentation of Raimi's cult classic.
