Will I get native 4k Ultra HD?

Yes. Brian De Palma naturally shot The Untouchables in an era when motion picture film was the only medium available, allowing his classic to receive the exact archival treatment film lovers hope for: for this Ultra HD Blu-ray release, the film underwent a complete restoration from the original archived 35mm camera negatives. These cleaned elements were scanned in 4K so restoration specialists could address age- and storage-related analog defects and prepare the image for a technically pristine presentation on modern displays. As we know, original 35mm film elements hold more than enough visual information for native 4K, so given the brand-new restoration and remastering, a reference-grade presentation awaits. By combining high resolution with expanded color and luminance gamuts, the new native 4K master extracts the absolute maximum from the source materials, making it safe to say The Untouchables has never looked better than it does on this disc. As with the finest catalog releases, this is the ultimate audiovisual presentation of the celebrated classic—and on a well-calibrated home theater system, you will enjoy it in even higher quality than theatergoers did decades ago!
