Will I get native 4k ULTRA HD?
Yes. Given the age of the film, it comes as no surprise that its entire production and post-production were strictly analog. The quality of the new 4K transfer therefore relies primarily on the archival work done by the creators or the studio, as well as the capabilities of the boutique label that completely restored and newly scanned the original negatives in 4K. In this regard, Arrow Video consistently delivers top-tier results. A native 4K master is indeed present on the disc, providing the definitive presentation of this underrated classic to date. The 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray transfer extracts the absolute maximum from the original 35mm elements, both in terms of fine detail definition and sharpness, as well as color reproduction and dynamic range. Thanks to HDR, the UHD format is able to leverage every last nit of peak brightness from the analog source. Sbiers can expect nothing less than a presentation that surpasses how the film looked during its original theatrical release, making this, in all likelihood, the definitive home video release of Friedkin's masterpiece.
