Do I Get Native 4k?

Yes. I Know What You Did Last Summer was made before the digitalisation of film productions, so it was recorded on classic analogue 35mm film - and was of course photochemically post-produced and mastered. Thus, Sony Pictures was able to go back to the original film negatives for the 4k Ultra HD Blu-ray release (and knowing that previous releases on physical media had not been very successful), restore them, scan them in 4k, and create a new digital in native 4k that finally meets the requirements of a quality audiovisual presentation (the sound mix was re-mixed in Dolby Atmos).

The new transfer is beyond any previous version of the film, so we can enjoy I Know What You Did Last Summer in ultimate quality that even surpasses the look of the film in theaters when it was released. After all, foreign reviews praise everything we expect from a quality UHDBD: Perfect sharpness and richness, preservation of the material's cinematic characteristics, top-notch grading for HDR presentation, perfect compression, and an equally superb soundtrack. Reference material. The film has never looked better.
