Do I get native 4K ULTRA HD?

Yes. Given James Cameron’s reputation as a technological pioneer and a perfectionist, one can expect nothing less than a reference-grade audiovisual feast. The only thing that could potentially mar its reputation is compression, though that remains purely theoretical—fitting nearly two hundred minutes of footage onto a single disc is a challenge. However, that is exactly why we have triple-layer media (BD-100). Produced and post-produced in native 4K, Avatar benefits from being shot on the Sony CineAlta Venice—some of the finest digital cameras available today—as well as the fact that much of its runtime is virtually generated. This ensures razor-sharp precision, consistent detail, and flawless color reproduction. Every single frame is essentially a work of art, ready for large-format printing. This is Cameron at his best. We can also expect fantastic HDR performance, where the breathtaking world of Pandora literally glows with vibrant light and a stunning palette of colors. It is, by its very nature, an incredible spectacle.
