Will I get native 4k Ultra HD?
Star Trek was shot on analog cameras using classic 35mm film stock. It was subsequently scanned and finished in 2K during post-production, meaning the film's master is upsampled for the Ultra HD Blu-ray presentation. However, native resolution is not the deciding factor here, as a sci-fi film like Star Trek benefits primarily from the expanded color and luminance spectrum of WCG and HDR. It is mainly thanks to them that the new format looks substantially better than the Blu-ray.
