Do I get native 4K Ultra HD?

Yes. Ridley Scott’s modern war classic was created photochemically. The film was shot on Super 35 film stock and post-produced using analog processes. Thanks to this, the studio was able to return to the original archival materials and scan them for the new release in true 4K resolution. The Ultra HD Blu-ray is therefore based on a native 4K master and, combined with more efficient compression, offers finer grain definition and improved overall detail. The new HDR grading approved by Scott also extracts every brightness and color detail from the original analog elements that previously remained beyond the reach of standard Blu-ray. It is therefore clear that Black Hawk Down will look better on Ultra HD Blu-ray than ever before. In fact, it may never look any better, as the UHDBD format fully utilizes all the visual information that 35mm film is capable of delivering.
