Will I get native 4k Ultra HD?

Yes. The remarkable production of 1917 was lensed on Arri Alexa Mini LF digital cameras; Oscar-winning cinematographer Roger Deakins utilized the very first production units primarily for their large-format sensor size and compact form factor. Because 1917 was designed to play out as a single continuous shot—following its protagonists through the entire story without a single visible cut—long, unbroken takes had to be choreographed down to the last step, with camera operators employing every conceivable rig from cranes and Steadicams to handheld setups. High mobility was therefore essential, as was the large sensor capturing 4.5K raw footage that was subsequently finished in a 4K post-production pipeline. The master for 1917 is thus true native 4K.

The 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray therefore has plenty of source material to draw upon—in theaters, 1917 was an absolute reference-grade visual experience with phenomenal sharpness and fine detail rendering across its entire "single shot." Compared to theatrical projection, the UHDBD also holds the advantage of HDR, available on the disc in both premium Dolby Vision and HDR10+ formats. Nothing less than an audiovisual gem can be expected from this release, offering the finest possible presentation of a film that didn't look this good even in cinemas.
