Will I get native 4k Ultra HD?

The Equalizer 2 was shot on Arri Alexa XT and Mini cameras, whose raw capture topped out at 2.8K resolution. For post-production, the footage was downsampled to 2K, which is also the resolution of the final master. The film is therefore upsampled for its Ultra HD Blu-ray presentation, meaning the UHDBD offers only a modest uptick in fine detail rendering over the standard Full HD SDR version. Where it truly excels, however, is in compression quality, a wider color palette, and above all higher dynamic range—the classic advantages of the format, and in most cases far more impactful than resolution alone.
