Will I get native 4k Ultra HD?
Yes—and technically speaking, it is an absolute powerhouse. The Suicide Squad was shot on state-of-the-art Red digital cameras, specifically the Komodo, Ranger Monstro, and Weapon Monstro models, all in IMAX configurations. Raw footage was therefore captured at 6K and even 8K resolutions, while post-production and the final master were completed in 4K. This makes it a native Ultra HD presentation backed by a massive 6K–8K data foundation. In other words, nothing less than reference-grade sharpness and fine detail rendering can be expected from this transfer. IMAX-certified Red cameras are renowned for top-tier image rendering across the board, and in Gunn's film they also excelled in color reproduction and exposure latitude—qualities that will undoubtedly push the HDR capabilities of any modern display to the limit. The Suicide Squad is an audiovisual gem, and although it was designed primarily for IMAX, in home theaters it shines in several areas where theatrical projection simply cannot compete—namely HDR and razor-sharp clarity concentrated onto a smaller screen.
