Will I get native 4k Ultra HD?

As is his custom, Michael Bay shot every installment of the Transformers saga using a mix of distinct camera technologies, switching between camera systems depending on the specific scene. Transformers was therefore captured on both digital and analog cameras across varying sensor sizes and film stocks. Regardless, despite the higher capture resolution of certain sequences (such as those shot on IMAX cameras in later installments), the final result was always a 2K master. The films are therefore upscaled for their Ultra HD Blu-ray presentations. Even so, early international reviews note that the transfers better define film grain and offer a subtle uptick in fine detail rendering. Above all, however, they benefit from a fresh HDR grade: thanks to a wider color palette and superior contrast handling, the movies look substantially better than on Blu-ray, as Bay loves working with extreme color saturation and intense specular highlights that standard Blu-ray often had to clip. On UHDBD, they are truly unleashed.
