Will I get native 4k Ultra HD?

Yes. For its 25th anniversary, Unforgiven was newly scanned in 4K from the original 35mm camera negatives to create a native 4K master. The entire process was supervised by Clint Eastwood and his team, who compared both the SDR and HDR grades against an original answer print to ensure the artistic intent was faithfully preserved. The 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray thus presents the definitive version of Unforgiven—true to the filmmakers' vision and in a quality that will never be surpassed.

International reviews (1) praise the transfer precisely because it does not abuse Ultra HD resolution or the wider color and luminance range to artificially embellish the film, instead presenting it in its optimal form. Darker scenes are actually even darker than on the Blu-ray and do not differ dramatically in resolution. Where Ultra HD truly shines is in wide establishing shots, landscapes, and similar vistas, where the fine detail rendering is genuinely gorgeous. The UHDBD applies HDR very judiciously, using it with a light touch to achieve a more realistic image (such as better-defined skin tones).
