Will I get native 4k Ultra HD?
Yes. American Gangster was shot on 35mm film and photochemically finished. This allowed the studio to reach for the negatives when producing the UHDBD, scan them in 4k and create a native 4k master for the highest quality presentation possible. In addition to the increase in resolution and fundamentally higher quality compression, which makes the original Blu-ray transfer a technically obsolete spectacle, the video can benefit from the other "usual suspects", namely WCG and HDR, which make sure that American Gangster hasn't looked better than it did on Ultra HD Blu-ray until now, even in theaters.
