Do I get native 4K Ultra HD?

The third Bad Boys film was shot using a wide range of digital cameras, including the Blackmagic Cinema Camera, Red Monstro, Sony CineAlta Venice, Arri Alexa Mini and Arri Alexa SXT. The raw footage was typically captured in 4K or 2.8K, however the complete post-production process — and thus the final digital master — was finished in 2K. For UHDBD purposes, the title is therefore upscaled. Nevertheless, early reactions agree that this is a reference-quality presentation, proving that resolution alone is not the decisive factor when strong compression, brightness and color performance come into play — and in this respect, Bad Boys truly shine. Quite literally. The film’s visuals feature a wealth of sharp highlights and vivid colors which, thanks to the combination of HDR and WCG, deliver a truly spectacular UHDBD experience that pushes the limits of your home theater. In addition, the third Bad Boys are IMAX Enhanced. Alongside the IMAX-branded DTS:X mix, the image itself has undergone minor processing using IMAX technologies, meaning it is not a standard 2K master, but rather a hybrid that sits somewhere between 2K and native 4K.
