Catch Me If You Can

Yes. Steven Spielberg's charming 2002 retro caper Catch Me If You Can was shot by his longtime cinematographer Janusz Kaminski on classic 35mm film with Panavision cameras and completed through a traditional photochemical finish without a digital intermediate (DI). For its 4k Ultra HD Blu-ray debut, Paramount was able to pull the original 35mm camera negatives straight from the vault, scan them in 4k, and strike a brand-new native 4k master. Encoded onto a triple-layer BD-100 disc with HDR-10 and Dolby Vision, the transfer showcases the stylish 1960s period design beautifully: from gleaming airport terminals and crisp Pan Am uniforms through the warm pastel hues of Miami to a rain-soaked French village, the image delivers markedly finer grain resolution, crisper detail, and a livelier WCG palette than the old Blu-ray. This Spielberg gem will never look better.
