Will I get native 4k Ultra HD?

Yes, though with a major caveat: this is a 4K remaster of a CG-animated title produced at a time when rendering output quality was far lower and fell short of modern standards both technically and visually. While the transfer offers an upgrade over previous editions and stands as the best presentation to date, viewers must still expect inherent limitations and artifacts such as edge aliasing and shimmer. In many ways, the situation with Final Fantasy mirrors that of Shrek, whose production history and transfer quality we analyzed on our blog at this link. In short, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children has never looked or sounded better—and never will—but one must account for the limitations of its original digital source assets, which cannot be magically "enhanced" beyond their native origins.
