Masters of the Universe 4k | 1987 | Limited Collector´s Edition

Yes. Cannon Films' cult 1987 sci-fi fantasy adventure starring Dolph Lundgren and Frank Langella was shot by cinematographer Hanania Baer on classic 35mm analog film using spherical Panavision lenses and finished entirely photochemically without a Digital Intermediate (DI). UK boutique label 88 Films went straight back to the original 35mm camera negatives, scanning them in 4k to create a brand-new native 4k master graded in both HDR-10 and Dolby Vision, with top-tier HEVC encoding onto a triple-layer BD-100 disc handled by Fidelity in Motion (and the set even includes the newly unearthed 110-minute Extended Preview Cut on a dedicated second UHD disc). The new presentation delivers a dramatic leap in fine detail across William Stout's monumental sets, costumes, and Skeletor's prosthetics, alongside finely resolved organic film grain and a richer dynamic and color palette via HDR and WCG that makes Eternia's dark halls and optical laser battles pop as never before. Presented on 4k Ultra HD Blu-ray at a level equivalent to owning a pristine 35mm print, this cult classic extracts every last drop of quality from its source elements and will never look better on home video.
