Will I get native 4k Ultra HD?

Yes. Top Gun was made at a time when neither digital intermediates (nor, for that matter, digital effects) were part of production or post-production. Naturally, it was shot on traditional 35mm motion picture film. Both production and post-production were completed photochemically, meaning the studio held the original camera negatives in its archives and could fully restore them for its re-release, scan them in 4K, digitally clean them, and create a 4K master that extracts the maximum from the source elements. Furthermore, thanks to HDR and WCG, the Ultra HD Blu-ray can harness the exposure latitude of analog film as well as its natural color reproduction, presenting them in the highest possible quality—which on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray not only surpasses all previous home video releases, but actually looks technically superior to how the film looked during its original theatrical run. It is safe to say that the UHDBD is the definitive and finest possible reproduction of this action classic.
