Will I get native 4k Ultra HD?

Yes. The master for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them was finished in 4K (even though it was shot natively on Arri Alexa XT cameras at "only" 3.4K);better yet, director David Yates noted that he and his cinematographer actively kept HDR in mind during principal photography. Not only is the Ultra HD Blu-ray sourced from a native 4K master, it is also one of the first films where the HDR grade was conceived as an integral part of the artistic intent.

That doesn't mean flashy specular highlights, however. On the contrary, international reviews praise how sensitively the HDR grade treats the material, generally yielding better object definition in the shadows and more natural colors. Blu-ray.com, for instance, commends the subtle palette and superb shadow detail, while reviews also note a tangible increase in visual information—the UHDBD reveals fine nuances that were easy to miss on the standard Blu-ray. It comes as no surprise that this is a thoroughly impressive disc.
