Do I get native 4k ULTRA HD?

4k REVIEW

Yes! Cinematographer Jerzy Zielinski shot Galaxy Quest in 1999 on 35mm film with Panavision cameras, blending Stan Winston's practical creature work with ILM's turn-of-the-millennium digital visual effects. Paramount's remaster derives from a native 4k scan of the 35mm original camera negative with the vintage VFX composites seamlessly integrated, and crucially restores director Dean Parisot's original theatrical shifting aspect ratios for the first time on home video: opening in 1.33:1 for the classic TV broadcasts, widening to 1.85:1 at the fan convention, and expanding dramatically to full 2.39:1 scope once the crew launches into deep space.

Graded in Dolby Vision, the transfer delivers noticeably sharper costume textures, natural filmic grain free of heavy DNR, and punchier specular highlights across the NSEA Protector bridge consoles, glowing beryllium sphere, and desert planet exteriors. A newly remixed English Dolby Atmos track rounds out the disc with lively overhead activity during ship launches, the magnetic minefield chase, and the Gorignak rock-monster showdown.
