Do I get native 4k ULTRA HD?

    4k REVIEW

Yes. Both star-studded cross-country stunt comedies from legendary Hollywood stuntman-turned-director Hal Needham were shot analogically on 35mm film in 1981 and 1984—the original photographed by Michael Butler on Arriflex 35-III and Panavision Panaflex cameras, and the sequel by Nick McLean on Panavision Panaflex Gold cameras with spherical Super Speed lenses—and finished entirely photochemically at Technicolor.

For their 4k Ultra HD debut, Arrow Films returned to the original 35mm film elements to create brand-new native 4k restorations of both features with Dolby Vision and HDR-10, giving each film its own dedicated 4k UHD disc. Compared to dated, flat HD masters of the past, the new 4k presentations deliver organic 35mm grain, crisp highway vistas, gleaming automotive paintwork—from the iconic black Lamborghini Countach to sun-drenched desert chrome—and restored lossless DTS-HD Master Audio across original mono, stereo, and 5.1 mixes.
