The Big Heat 4k | Limited Collector´s Edition

Yes. Produced by Tsui Hark and co-directed by Andrew Kam and Johnnie To, this gritty 1988 Hong Kong action neo-noir was shot on classic 35mm film by legendary cinematographer Horace Wong (A Better Tomorrow, Hard Boiled) and finished completely photochemically. Arrow Video's presentation is sourced from a brand-new 4k scan and restoration of the original 35mm camera negatives, encoded with generous bitrate headroom on a triple-layer BD-100 disc. Compared to any previous home video masters, the native 4k transfer delivers a dramatic leap in fine detail, tight and organic 35mm grain definition, and razor-sharp textures across rain-slicked Hong Kong streets. Enhanced with Dolby Vision (HDR-10 compatible) and Wide Color Gamut (WCG), Wong's expressive nocturnal lighting – famous for its piercing red-and-blue neon contrasts, inky blacks, and explosive muzzle flashes – shines with remarkable depth and dynamic range. This heroic bloodshed gem arrives in archival quality equivalent to owning a 35mm print – it will never look better on home video.
