The Book of Eli 4k | Limited Collector´s Edition

Shot in 2009 by acclaimed cinematographer Don Burgess (Forrest Gump, Cast Away), the Hughes Brothers' post-apocalyptic neo-western was one of the first major Hollywood studio features captured digitally on 4k RED One cameras (in 4k Redcode RAW) paired with Panavision Primo anamorphic lenses. However, in keeping with studio workflows of the era, all visual effects and post-production finishing at Warner Bros. Motion Picture Imaging were completed via a 2k Digital Intermediate (2k DI).

For its Ultra HD Blu-ray debut, Arrow Films produced a brand-new 4k restoration with a fresh Dolby Vision and HDR-10 grade directly supervised and approved by co-director Albert Hughes and DoP Don Burgess, housed on a high-capacity triple-layer BD-100 disc. Compared to the 2010 Blu-ray, the generous HEVC encode and expanded dynamic range transform the film's bleach-bypass-inspired wasteland palette: blinding desert highlights hold crisp detail free of banding, shadow gradations in interiors remain rock-solid, and weathered fabrics, ash, and steel textures look markedly cleaner and more tactile.
