Do I get native 4K Ultra HD?
Yes. Godzilla was made at a time when intermediate digital copies were not yet used, so the post-production process was purely analog. The sequences with digital effects were printed onto film without affecting the resolution of the rest of the material. Thanks to this, the studio could return to the original analog negatives, restore them, and scan them in 4K. The Ultra HD Blu-ray master is therefore not upscaled but truly native 4K. Moreover, it benefits from better compression and especially from the extended color (WCG) and brightness range (HDR), which make the Ultra HD Blu-ray presentation a higher-quality viewing experience than its original theatrical release — the disc is the ultimate presentation of the film, which will never look better.
